MEDIA INFO

Over many years the Victoria Golf Club’s charity golf events have raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for deserving local charities. For the past 12 years the Club has raised over $1,000,000, most of which has been directed to the Victoria Women’s Transition House, an organization dedicated to providing housing, counseling, education and support to women and their children escaping violent family situations.

In 2013, a small percentage of funds went to support counseling programs provided by the Pacific Centre Family Services Association for men involved in intimate partner violence.

In 2014, the Club continues to be committed to supporting safer families through these charities and through KidSport helping to ensure that kids from low income families can participate in a season of sport.

In 2015, Victoria Woment's Transition House and KidSport again benefited from two successful golf tournaments and an Italian themed Gala.

Our events draw participants of both genders from Vancouver Island, the Lower BC Mainland and Alberta. The tournaments and evening social event are regularly over-subscribed by players hoping to play on the Number One Golf Course on Vancouver Island and people generally wanting an evening of good fun for a good cause.

Many of the 1200+ Victoria Golf Club Members and their spouses volunteer a tremendous amount of personal time serving on the Charity Events committees. Well over 70% of the donations and sponsorships come from the Victoria Golf Club’s generous membership, the remainder coming from our local business community.

The Victoria Golf Club’s iFund are focused on fostering safe and caring family relationships. Programs that help to facilitate positive change are supported by funds raised at these charity events.
